Inside a Chinese Factory ｜My Business Trip from Shenzhen to Dongguan

In this video, I recorded a Saturday business trip from Shenzhen to Changping, Dongguan by high-speed train. This project is for the renovation and interior design of a bakery. We visited a factory in Dongguan to inspect the products that will later be used in the project. On-site, we checked the dimensions, accessories, workmanship, materials, and details to make sure everything matches the design requirements before installation. Many people may think an interior designer only works in the office, drawing plans and creating renderings. But in real projects, there are many details that need to be checked before the final installation. From design drawings to factory production and on-site construction, every step can affect the final result. This is also a real look at China’s manufacturing and supply chain in the Pearl River Delta region. Shenzhen is often responsible for design, client communication, and project management, while Dongguan provides manufacturing and supply chain support. This is not a glamorous business trip. It is just a real workday of a commercial interior designer in China: taking the train, visiting a factory, measuring, inspecting products, checking data, and returning to Shenzhen.
