Can This Dead DDR5 RAM Be Saved?

The time-lock bug on the SPD RW software is officially history. I used dnSpy to decompile the assembly, locate the hardcoded execution restrictions, and successfully patched out the 2024 system date constraint. No more manual clock rollbacks required on the bench! DDR5 memory isn't cheap, and when this RAM stick arrived with severe physical damage, throwing it away wasn't an option. In this video, I attempt a DDR5 RAM repair. The original PCB suffered significant damage after a memory chip was torn from the board, leaving behind damaged solder joints and potentially ripped PCB pads. After inspecting the damage under the microscope, it became clear that repairing the original board might not be easy. That's when the project took an unexpected turn. Using a bare DDR5 PCB, I read and back up the original SPD data, transfer it to the replacement board, reball the memory chips, and attempt a complete DDR5 memory transplant. Every memory IC must be removed, prepared, and soldered onto the new PCB in hopes of bringing this expensive RAM module back to life. One chip also suffered, but I was bale to repair the pad. Will the transplanted DDR5 stick boot successfully, or will this repair end in failure? 🔧 In this video: • DDR5 RAM diagnostics • SPD data backup and programming • DDR5 PCB replacement • BGA memory chip reballing • Microsoldering and board-level repair • Memory module reconstruction • Final testing and verification If you enjoy advanced electronics repair, BGA rework, motherboard repair, console repair, and unusual hardware recovery projects, consider subscribing for more content. 👍 Like the video if you enjoy seeing hardware brought back from the dead.
