Can You Really Replace an AM5 Socket ASUS PRIME X670 Repair

Today I’m repairing an ASUS PRIME X670 motherboard with a damaged AM5 socket. In this video I carefully remove the original socket, clean and inspect all pads, repair damaged solder mask areas, and prepare the board for a brand-new socket installation. After adjusting my HT-R490 rework profile, I solder the replacement AM5 socket back onto the board and verify the repair using both a multimeter and boardview software to confirm continuity between the AM5 socket pins and DDR5 memory traces. This repair requires precise alignment, controlled heat, and a lot of patience — one mistake can permanently destroy the motherboard.
