Dead PS3 Fought Back HARD… But I Won Full Frankenstein Repair

This repair tested my patience more than anything else. We’re working on a PS3 CECH-E01 with GLOD (Green Light of Death) — and what should have been a straightforward Frankenstein RSX swap turned into a chain of failures. Here’s everything that went wrong: Installed 40nm RSX → ❌ no image Replaced NEC/TOKIN capacitors → ❌ still dead Finally got safe mode video Firmware update kept failing Found bad Bluetooth/WiFi board → replaced Still wouldn’t update… Swapped Blu-ray drive Fully formatted HDD on PC After 10+ attempts… ✅ Successfully installed OFW 4.92 Only then — the console finally came back to life. This is a perfect example of how: 👉 Multiple faults can stack 👉 One fix is NOT always enough 👉 Persistence is everything in console repair 💡 Work performed: PS3 Frankenstein mod (RSX transplant) BGA rework using HT-R490 (no jig) Syscon-related work Full hardware troubleshooting ⚠️ This is advanced board-level repair. Not recommended without proper tools. 📩 Got a dead console like this? Drop a comment — I might cover it in a future video.
