The invisible killer returned after 44 years. On March 4, 2026, the American nuclear submarine USS Charlotte sank the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena off the coast of Sri Lanka—the first sinking of a ship by a submarine-fired torpedo since the Belgrano in 1982, and the first such attack by an American ship since World War II. In this film, we recount the three minutes that changed naval warfare: the silent hunt, the heavy Mk-48 torpedo, the devastating keel explosion, the loss of over 100 sailors, and the legal and political storm that ensued from Tehran to New Delhi and Washington, D.C. The frigate was returning as an honored guest from an Indian parade to which 74 nations were invited, but it was sunk 2,000 miles from home.
