【八幡山歩】誕生山吉祥寺をゆく。｜Wisteria and Stone — Kisshoji Temple in Bloom.

北九州・八幡。煙突と坂道が重なる街の背後に、誕生山は静かに控えている。 その山懐に眠る吉祥寺へ足を踏み入れると、境内にはどこか時代の外側に置かれたような空気が漂う。開山は浄土宗の鎮西上人（聖光房弁阿）。八幡の地に深く根を張ったこの古刹が、年に一度だけ、紫に染まる。 藤である。 風に揺れる花房の下に立つと、高貴さと孤独がひとつの影として重なる。香りは境内に満ち、石段はただ無言で、来た者を奥へと誘う。かつてこの道を歩いた人々の息遣いが、どこかにまだ残っているような気がした。 初夏の光の中、歴史の断層をひとり行く。 八幡の山歩きは、道行きであり、追憶でもある。 Behind the smokestacks and hillside streets of Yahata, Kitakyushu, Mt. Tanjo stands in quiet reserve. At its foot lies Kisshoji Temple — founded by the revered Chinzei Shonin of the Jodo sect, and rooted in this land for centuries. Once a year, the ancient grounds are overtaken by wisteria. Purple cascades hang from the trellises, swaying in the early-summer breeze, casting both beauty and a particular kind of solitude. To walk beneath them is to feel time loosen its grip. The stone paths say nothing. The fragrance says everything.
