These incredibly tender, airy homemade rolls are the epitome of coziness and warmth. Beneath an appetizing golden crust lies an incredibly soft yeast dough that rises like a cloud and is prepared with great care. The true secret to their charm is the delicate custard cream with a light vanilla note and a hint of sunny turmeric, which is applied to each roll in elegant waves before baking. While they bake in the oven, an irresistible, creamy vanilla scent spreads throughout the house, which no one can resist. Hot, fluffy and incredibly delicious — these rolls practically melt in your mouth and disappear from the table faster than they can cool down! The perfect complement to a cup of coffee in the morning or for a cozy tea evening with the family. Recipe: 500-550 g wheat flour (4 cups). 2 tablespoons of sugar. 20 g fresh yeast (1 oz). 250 ml warm milk (1 cup). 1 egg + 1 egg yolk. 80 g butter (2 4/5 ounces). 5-6 g salt (1/2 teaspoon). For the vanilla cream (pudding cream): 1 tbsp vanilla sugar 4 tbsp sugar. 30 g cornstarch (1/4 cup) 240 ml milk (1 cup) ½ teaspoon turmeric 50 g butter (≈ 3½ tablespoons) Knead the dough and let it rest for 60 minutes. Shape the rolls as shown in the video. Brush with the egg-milk mixture. Bake at 180 °C (356 °F) for 25–30 minutes. Have fun baking!
