Route H32's NEW CHANGE Explained - RATP, Transport UK and Metroline (Goodbye Enviro400s & MMCs)

On the 7th of March 2026, London bus route H32 was changed. The H32 had been operated by Transport UK since Spring 2023. Under London United (RATP), the H32 used Scania OmniCities. For more OmniCity throwbacks, skip to 8:50. TUK took over the H32 with New Routemasters which were used on the 111. Enviro400 hybrids and Enviro400 MMCs began straying on the route in 2024. Some of these buses run as "bandits", with no proper blind displays. Under TUK, the H32 ran from Armstrong Way (GW) garage. The route now runs from Metroline's Lampton (SG) garage. And uses a full allocation of New Routemasters from both Lampton and Brentford garages. Some New Routemasters now used on the H32 have been transferred from other garages. Including Cricklewood (W) and Holloway (HT). As well as changing operators, the H32's peak vehicle requirement has also been increased. It now uses 10 buses instead of 11, with no change to frequency. Route H32 runs between Southall Town Hall and Hounslow Bus Station. The route runs every 10 to 15 minutes, from 04:30 until 01:35. The H32 is around 6 miles (9 km) long, with a full journey taking 30 to 60 minutes. The route serves Southall Town Hall, Southall Station, The Green, King Street, Wentworth Road, Convent Way Shopping Precinct, Ringway, New Heston Road, Great West Road, Hounslow West Station, St Paul's Church, St Michael & St Martin Church, The Bell, Treaty Centre, Hounslow High Street and Hounslow Bus Station. The H32 connects to two rail lines, including... The Elizabeth Line at Southall, And the London Underground Piccadilly line at Hounslow West and Hounslow Central. The H32 may soon connect with a planned Superloop route in Hounslow. The H32 started running in April 1993, meaning it's now around 33 years old. Its routeing has not been changed since its introduction. The H32 was introduced to replace the 232 between Southall and Hounslow. It was operated by London United with single deck Plaxton Pointers. One double deck MCW Metrobus was also allocated to the route. The first major change to the H32 came two years after its introduction in 1995. When the Plaxton Pointers were replaced by MCW Metrobuses. Double deckers ran from Mondays to Saturdays. In August 1997, the Sunday service was also converted to double deck operation. New low floor buses entered service on the H32 in March 2000. With Plaxton Presidents replacing the MCW Metrobuses. In March 2004 and 2009, the H32's contract was retained by London United. Scania OmniCities then entered service on the route in March 2009. These started replacing the Plaxton Presidents. An MCV DD103 double deck demonstrator was used on the H32 in 2013. In March 2016, London United retained the H32 for a third time. A half hourly 24-hour weekend night service was introduced in December 2016. This was suspended in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. Part of the H32's allocation transferred from Hounslow to Hounslow Heath in 2018. The part allocation transferred back less than a year later, in March 2019. Existing New Routemasters entered service on the H32 in August 2021. New Routemasters were used until May 2022, When the route converted back to full Scania OmniCity operation. In March 2023, the H32 passed to a new operator for the first time. With Abellio now running the route from Armstrong Way (GW) garage.
