ONE YEAR LATE: Route 330 Finally has Hybrids! Enviro400 MMCs, Gemini 3s, E400s and Gemini 2s

Hybrid buses have entered service on London bus route 330. The 330's conversion to hybrids has been ramping up since the start of May 2026. With all diesels expected to be replaced in the next few weeks. The Enviro400 MMCs now on the 330 transferred from Putney and New Cross garages. They were used on routes 14, 21, 22, 36, 74, 171, 172, 321, 343, 430, 436, N21 and N89. The MMCs on the 330 are similar to the Smart Hybrids Stagecoach used on the route. Most Gemini 3s now on the 330 transferred from Camberwell (Q) garage. They were allocated to route 188, but were also used on the 1. The 330 has been using a temporary mix of diesels since the 3rd of May 2025. This was when Go-Ahead London took over the route from Stagecoach. Go-Ahead won the 330's contract using hybrids, however these were not ready in time; Meaning diesel ADL Enviro400s and Gemini 2s were used. The 330 and 474 shared a mix of Enviro400s from late 2010 and 2011. These transferred from various garages, including Stockwell and New Cross. The 330's Enviro400s were used on the 118, 129 and 337. However, the 118's SN60 plate Enviro400s and the 337's SN11s were withdrawn in 2026; Leaving ex-129 SN61 plate Enviro400s on the route. These buses are currently Go-Ahead's oldest batch of Enviro400s. The 330 and 474 also used Gemini 2s transferred from Merton (AL) garage. These were primarily used on routes 157 and 200. Route 330 runs between Wanstead Park Station and Silvertown, Pontoon Dock. The route's main purpose is to provide round-the-corner links around Newham. The 330 runs every 10 to 15 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays, And every 20 minutes all day on Sundays. The 330 runs from around 04:55 until 00:55. The route is 4 miles (6km) long, with a full journey taking 25 to 45 minutes. The 330 serves Wanstead Park Station, Forest Gate Station, Romford Road, Plashet Road, Upton Park Station, Queens Market, Upton Park Boleyn, Plaistow, Prince Regent Lane, Balaam Street, Hermit Road, Rathbone Market, Canning Town Station, Brunel Street, City Hall, West Silvertown Station, Mill Road, Pontoon Dock Station and Thames Barrier. #bus #tfl #buses What are your thoughts on hybrids finally returning to the 330?
