We visit the beautiful Naga Temple in Wang Nam Khiao, where local people gather to make merit and celebrate the teachings of Lord Buddha. Makha Bucha Day commemorates the remarkable occasion when 1,250 enlightened monks gathered spontaneously to hear Lord Buddha preach, making it a deeply significant day in Thai Buddhism. We also discuss Vesak Day, another major Buddhist celebration honoring the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha. Back at home, the work continues on our new rural Thailand house. Despite the rainy season, I finally start painting the exterior, applying the first two coats of undercoat wherever the weather allows. With rain arriving almost daily, it's a case of painting when I can and waiting when nature has other plans!
