Hausen am Andelsbach (D - BW) Die Glocken der Pfarrkirche St. Odilia
This video presents the bells g1 -h♭1 -c2 -d2 [dol3 -si♭3 -do4 -re4] of St Odilia parish church in Hausen am Andelsbach, southern Germany. A modern bell complements a historic ensemble dating from the 15th and 18th centuries ➥ The oldest bell in Hausen [4] dates from around 1450. It is unmarked, but its shape and tone allow it to be attributed with relative certainty to the Biberach foundry. In 1779, the historic peal was then completed. Fourth-generation bell founder Leonhard Rosenlecher in Constance cast the two large bells [1+2] in a relatively heavy shaped design by the standards of the time. Miraculously, this historic trio survived the turmoil of the war and has been preserved to this day. After the Second World War, the peal was supplemented by a further bell [3] due to the large interval between the tones, cast by the Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling bell foundry in Heidelberg. The historic and modern bells complement each other relatively well. Thanks to their heavier shapes, the two large bells are able to assert themselves very well with their distinctive sound. The belfry is a massive structure, which was rebuilt during the Baroque renovation of St. Odilia around 1775.
