La conexión del DIAFRAGMA CON LA ANSIEDAD

In today's video, we're going to talk about a very interesting topic: the diaphragm and anxiety. Two concepts that, although they may seem very different, are closely related. Let's start with the diaphragm. Did you know it's one of the most important muscles in our body? Yes, it is. The diaphragm is a dome-shaped muscle located at the bottom of our chest that separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominal cavity. It's fundamental to our breathing process, since by contracting and relaxing, it allows air to enter and leave our lungs. But what does the diaphragm have to do with anxiety? Well, it turns out that when we're anxious or stressed, our breathing is affected. Instead of breathing deeply and slowly, we start breathing quickly and shallowly. And guess which muscle is most affected by this improper breathing... the diaphragm! When we breathe shallowly, the diaphragm remains tense and doesn't perform its function optimally. This creates a feeling of tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing properly, and even some physical symptoms like dizziness or tremors. Furthermore, this incorrect breathing can further increase anxiety levels, creating a vicious cycle that's hard to break.
