Understanding housing inequalities in the context of UK’s green transition | ReHousIn Lecture #11
In this ReHousIn lecture, Phoebe Stirling (University College London) explores how the UK's green transition is influencing housing inequalities. The session examines how domestic retrofitting, nature-based solutions and urban densification interact with housing affordability, access and stability. Drawing on research from the ReHousIn project, the lecture explores how fragmented governance, market-based funding and rising land values can increase the cost of delivering green initiatives, with these costs often falling on residents. The lecture highlights the importance of better coordination, stronger public institutions and more equitable policy design to ensure that climate action contributes to a fairer housing system. 🔗 ReHousIn Project Website: https://rehousin.eu Follow ReHousIn on LinkedIn: / rehousin #ReHousIn #HousingInequality #HousingCrisis #UnitedKingdom #HousingPolicy #GreenTransition #UrbanPlanning #NatureBasedSolutions #EnergyRetrofitting #HousingJustice #ClimateJustice #AffordableHousing #UrbanStudies #UCL #HorizonEurope
