Wild Camping in the Scottish Cheviots. Epic History at Hownam Law Hillfort

A quick trip out to Hownam Law in the Scottish Borders, one of the largest hill forts in the northern Cheviots. After finishing a busy night shift, I headed up with Adrian (Mountain Hopper 57) to catch the views and find a spot for the night. Catch his channel at ‪@northumberlandmountainhopper‬ I slept in the Nordisk Telemark 2 (a unique tent), tested out a trail camera, and shared a bit of local history—from the origins of American celery to the poetry of William H. Ogilvie. No Celery for supper though: I indulged in Northumberland Bangers from the best Farm Shop in the World I pushed the Sierra Designs Nitro quilt to it's limits. Rated for 3 degrees, the overnight temperature dropped to just above freezing. I left my jacket on! It was a cold night, but well worth it for the atmosphere. Thanks to everyone who has supported the channel recently; it’s always a pleasure to bump into subscribers out in the wild.
