A Wild Camp in the Scottish Borders | Cheviot Hills | Alpkit Tarpstar
I spent the night in the silence of the Cheviot Hills, this time from the Scottish side, somewhere I've been meaning to explore for a long time. After exploring The Shearers- a line of standing stones, reputedly the remains of folk who were punished for working on the Sabbath it was a short walk to the magnificently sited Hownam Rings Hill Fort itself. On top of Hownam Rings Fort the views were incredible and as I settled in for the night I was treated to the sight of low clouds rolling over the surrounding hills. Tried out the Alpkit Tarpstar again and it's proving to be a tent I am increasingly fond of: great price, great weight and easy to pitch with a lot of room inside. I continue to test the Aerogogo giga ultralight pump: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/... Supper was a rib-eye steak washed down with a can of American Brown Ale- champion! Accompanied by Adrian: @northumberlandmountainhopper Don't forget to like, subscribe, and share if you love the call of the wild! 🌿 All the best and thank you for reading this far Graham 🙏⛺
