Most of the water is being redirected away from the buildings, although one problem zone still needs fixing and this week’s downpours prove once again why it matters. Inside the old barn, Philippe finally pours the concrete footers. Making the wooden forms is one thing, but pouring the concrete is a real challenge, especially when the second footer goes slightly off centre during the pour. He reacts quickly and manages to correct it as best he can so the build can keep moving forward. We also share an update on our solar system and how it is actually working in our favor. Despite flooding setbacks and muddy conditions, both concrete footers are poured. Now time will cure the concrete until it is ready to hold the big vertical oak beams so the next phase of the barn renovation can continue. In the summer of 2023, we left the comforts of our lives in Belgium and purchased an old farmhouse in the south of France, specifically in the Dordogne region. We produce weekly videos documenting our progress on the property, with the ultimate goal of renovating it and restoring it to its former glory. Join us on our journey of transforming this French homestead as we aim for a simpler, yet more fulfilling life closer to nature. #france #homestead #offgrid #farmhouse #movingtofrance #frenchcountry #renovation #renovationproject #countryside #chateau #livinginfrance #building #countrylife #restoration #slowlife #renovating #youngfamily #renovatinginfrance #FarmhouseRestoration #restoration #excavation #frenchcountryside #frenchfarmhouse #slowliving #offgridliving #barn #barnrenovation #slowlife #slowliving #hardwork #family #restoration #DIY #property #building #concrete °°° MUSIC | We use epidemic sounds for our music: https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/f...
