Engine Start-up & Tuning #7 - 948cc A-Series - This is a short video of the engine run-in. I ran the engine in two ten minute cycles, monitoring timing, fueling mixture (AFR), temperature and oil pressure. After the first ten minutes, I adjusted the fuel mixture (running too lean) and centered the needle by slight movement of the rear SU carb’s dash pot. A few leaks became evident (heater shutoff and oil filter) but nothing major. 💦😱 I’ll reconnect the vacuum advance and reduce the idle speed to 1000 rpm for tomorrow’s run. Attention to, carb synchronization, mixture to 1-lambda, and correction of any leaks.
