Day 6 of painting 100 tiny landscapes | learning to paint with water

Welcome to Day 6 of painting 100 tiny landscapes. Today’s tiny painting became an experiment in colour, water movement, and learning to let the paint flow more naturally across the paper. Using Shell Pink by Holbein and Perylene Green by Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolours, I explored how soft pinks and greens can create a calm and soothing atmosphere while also experimenting with intentional blooms, textures, and gravity-led watercolour effects. At this stage in the journey I still felt quite lost creatively at times, but I’m beginning to notice certain colours, moods, and techniques that I naturally feel drawn towards. These tiny paintings are slowly teaching me to loosen up, trust the water more, and allow experimentation to become part of the process rather than fearing mistakes. Over the next 100 days I’ll be sharing one tiny landscape every morning as part of this calm creative journey — exploring intuition, atmosphere, texture, memory, and learning to enjoy painting more freely again.
