As the autumn equinox approaches, red red spider lilies bloom along riverbanks and in rural areas. Recently, thanks to a certain anime, they've become known as a poisonous plant, but they're also edible. That said, they weren't consumed regularly, but rather used as an emergency food source when food was scarce. So, this time, we detoxified some red spider lilies and tried eating them the traditional way: making hesobi mochi (rice cakes with rice cakes).
