Bantayan Island Budget Adventure 🇵🇭 The Ruins & Baigad Lagoon

For our second full day exploring Bantayan Island, Philippines 🇵🇭 Marilou and I visited two amazing hidden gems — The Ruins and Baigad Lagoon Beach. 📍 First Stop: The Ruins Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RxSVrD9QhmNy6... Located near Madridejos, The Ruins is a beautiful unfinished coastal structure that has become a popular stop for travelers visiting Bantayan Island. The area is completely FREE to visit and is known for its ocean views, rocky shoreline, and cliff jumping. We explored the ruins early in the morning and even hired a local kid named Christian to help take photos around the cliffs and shoreline (we tipped him of course ❤️). After watching a few others jump into the water below, Kevin finally worked up the courage to try the cliff jump himself… and ended up doing it twice! 😅 ⚠️ Cliff jumping conditions can change depending on tides and water depth. Always check conditions carefully and jump at your own risk. 📍 Second Stop: Baigad Lagoon Beach Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mhSrVUQgkH3Ag... Getting to Baigad Lagoon Beach was part of the adventure. Google Maps brought us to what looked like a random parking lot, but from there you either: 🚶 Walk about 1km (10–15 minutes) 🚤 Or take a banka boat for PHP75 each way Being budget travelers, we chose the walk. Once we arrived, we were honestly surprised. Baigad Lagoon Beach felt more like a resort than just a beach stop. There’s even an onsite resort called Chellie Rose Resort for travelers wanting to stay overnight: 🏨 Agoda Affiliate Link: https://tinyurl.com/ChellieRoseResort Entrance fee: 🎟️ PHP250 per person Inside the grounds you’ll find: ✔️ Restaurant ✔️ Swimming area ✔️ Instagram photo spots ✔️ Kayaks ✔️ Paddle boards ✔️ Snorkeling rentals One of the highlights of our entire Bantayan trip was renting a 2-person kayak for PHP400 and paddling through the winding mangrove lagoon. The current was pretty strong going up, so Kevin ended up walking the kayak through shallow water while we peacefully drifted back down. Our recommendation: Make Baigad Lagoon Beach an all-day trip because there’s honestly so much to do and the scenery is incredible. After a few relaxing hours, we made the 1km walk back to the scooter, grabbed a cheap snack from one of the restaurants outside the resort, and wrapped up another unforgettable day exploring Bantayan Island.
