The IndianOil Now Hear Us Series: Episode 11 feat. Shruti Vishwakarma Marathe

Shruti Vishwakarma Marathe is the featured artiste on Episode 11 of the popular IndianOil #NowHearUs Monthly Digital Concert Series. Shruti comes from a rich heritage of musicians and was introduced to Indian Classical Music by her grandfather Shri Narayan Shastri Godbole, a National Kirtankar in his own right, at the tender age of four. Having got her initial musical education from her parents, Smt. Jayanti Vishwakarma and Shri Ganpatrao Vishwakarma, both noted Kirana gharana exponents, she went on to learn music from none other than the great Smt. Veena Sahasrabuddhe of the Gwalior gharana. Currently, she is receiving taalim under the able guidence of Pt. Kedar Bodas, noted classical vocalist of the Agra and Bhendibazar gharanas. In this video, Shruti is accompanied by the much-in-demand Swapnil Bhise on tabla and the wonderful Siddhesh Bicholkar on harmonium. Tanpura support is provided by Mahesh Jagtap and Kshitij Dingore. This performance was recorded at the prestigious Chemould Prescott Road art gallery and the art displayed throughout the video is by Sheetal Gattani.
