I’ve been visiting the United States for years, but around 2016 something changed in a lot of countries around the world. Suddenly everyone was talking about nationalism. America had Trump. Britain had Brexit. And people in the UK kept saying they wanted their country “back.” Back from who? After colonizing half the planet, it’s a little surprising when Britain starts complaining about immigration.
