Sussex Non-League Podcast - episode 38 | with Hastings United boss David Altendorff

Matt Pole is joined by Sussex sport guru Steve Bone and a very special guest, Hastings United manager David Altendorff. David represented Brighton and Sussex as a young player and then played extensively at step five, totalling around 200 games each for Newhaven and Ringmer and also playing for AFC Uckfield Town, Haywards Heath Town and Peacehaven & Telscombe. His first job in management was with Haywards Heath Town under-18s, who he led to a league title within two years. David was then head coach at Lancing and was part of the staff who helped them rise from the SCFL to the Isthmian South East. More successes came as head of football at Ringmer and then head coach at Newhaven before taking on the manager’s job at Loxwood in 2022 and leading them away from danger in the SCFL Premier. The 2023-24 season saw David back at Lancing but as manager and the club enjoyed their highest ever finish, sixth in the Isthmian South East, only just missing out on a play-off place. David moved to Whitehawk as assistant manager at the start of the 2024-25 season and later became manager but left when he felt a new manager would the best course of action for the Hawks at that time.. He landed the job as Hastings United manager earlier this season after the departure of Lee Carey. -- MORE NEWS: https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/ SUBSCRIBE:    / @sussexworlduk   FOLLOW US:   / sussex_world     / sussexworlduk
