The Electro-Motive Division (EMD) GP38-2 was introduced in 1972. It was a 2000 horsepower 4 axle diesel locomotive that could be found holding down a wide variety of freight and switching jobs. Many GP38-2s are still in service 50 years after they were built! Chicago & Northwestern 4604 was built in 1979 and went to the Union Pacific after the 1995 merger. Dan kitbashed this HO scale locomotive model from a Proto 2000 GP38-2, some Athearn parts, and many aftermarket details. It even has a Kato motor! The headlights are done with fiber optics and warm white LEDs. It has a LokSound DCC and sound decoder. This one runs as good as it looks!
