Using about 10,000 photographs taken from the International Space Station by Chris Williams last May 26, we created this #timelapse. In this breathtaking sequence, we will travel alongside the #ISS for almost a complete orbit. The initial daytime portion features a flyover from Brazil to Europe, where the absence of clouds will treat us to a stunning view of Italy. The nighttime portion will reveal Indonesia, with the ever-present lights of fishing vessels, as well as the vast uninhabited expanses of Australia, where, paradoxically, copper mines and the pink glow of hydroponic greenhouses can be easily spotted. Before returning to the sunlit side, dozens of satellites can be seen dancing along the horizon. The video covers a 83 minutes time span and is therefore sped up about 10 times compared to the actual speed of the Station. ---------------- The AstronautiCAST YouTube channel is run by passionate volunteers on an unpaid basis.
