To speak of the creative economy is to speak of the role of culture in the economy as a whole. To hear about the creative economy is to understand how important this segment is to the economy as a whole. When will this become clear to people? Born in Rio de Janeiro, he is 51 years old and served as Minister of State for Culture from 2017 to the end of 2018. He was CEO of the production company Escarlate Audiovisual (2016), director of Ancine (2007/2008 and 2017) and of Cine Odeon (2015/2017) and municipal secretary of Culture of Rio (2012/2015). He graduated in Journalism from the School of Communication at UFRJ (1988). He was a member of the Boards of Directors of RioFilme, the Rio Planetarium Foundation and the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra Foundation. He was an advisor to the Presidency of BNDES (2006/2007), where he coordinated the creation of the Department of Cultural Economics and the Program for the Development of the Cultural Economy. He also served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Culture and Secretary of Cultural Policies at the Ministry of Culture, during Gilberto Gil's administration (2003/2006). He is currently the Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy for the State of São Paulo.
