Creative Process | Autodale's "HIVE"
Created by David James Armsby. / davidarmsbyartist This is a video covering my creative process designing the "Exceptional Girl"/"Hive" character for my Autodale Animated series. This was an interesting character to cover because she made her debut in "No Monsters", and was further expanded, 3 years later in "Friendly Shadow". Hive has been part of the Autodale mythos since pretty much the beginning. I've wanted to expand and explain her for years and it's extremely satisfying to finally cover her here. Revisiting and expanding the character after 3 years of hiatus was a strange experience. I didn't just need to redesign the character, but also give her a voice, motivation, and some characterisation.
