Part 19 of my Final Fantasy VIII Musical Story Series! The assassination plan is moving into its final, heart-pounding phase! Squall and Irvine reach their sniper position, but find Rinoa being attacked by the Iguions. These aren't the inanimate stone statues they used to be; Edea's magic has brought them to life, turning them into living, breathing beasts of flesh and blood! 🦎🩸 Breaking protocol, Squall and Irvine scale the wall, crash through the door, and engage in a brutal melee against the transformed monsters. After defeating the fleshy Iguions and saving Rinoa, the newly formed trio takes position in the clock tower. Quistis, Zell, and Selphie finally reach the control room. At the exact last possible second, they pull the lever, dropping the massive iron gates and trapping Sorceress Edea's float. The stage is perfectly set. Set to the tense, heavy beat of "The Stage is Set", Irvine fires the armor-piercing bullet—only for Edea to effortlessly block it with her magic.
