Moto and Mr. Meow are on the hunt for geodes at the world famous Dugway Geode Beds in Utah. The eastern side of the Geode Bed road loop as of our trip was very degraded and only possible to drive in a high clearance vehicle. The western side of the loop was much faster and a much better road bed. I wouldn’t attempt to drive if there if the roadbed is muddy. If you download an offline version of the area in Google Maps, you can use this pin to “force” the directions to the east loop: 39°53'20.1"N 113°08'29.9"W. Geode bed #1: 39°53'39.5"N 113°08'13.9"W The BLM will use heavy equipment occasionally to dig out the material and bring geodes to the surface. The geodes will break apart during the earthmoving, but it is an easier go for young children. Geode bed #2: 39°53'47.4"N 113°09'07.5"W At this location, you can pick up where others have dug, but you need to get down to the layer where geodes were deposited from an ancient lake.
