The 01.10 and 03.10 series locomotives were built in 1939/40. Both were fully streamlined and intended to speed up high-speed rail service. After the war, they were de-streamlined and converted into standard steam locomotives. In the mid-1990s, a private investor had the former heritage locomotive 01 1102 restored to streamlined condition in Bebra. We observed the newly restored streamlined locomotive on special excursions during the 1990s. Enjoy these old recordings.
