Full interview - https://www.kznarchives.gov.za/collec... An short clip from our main interview with Bondangaye "Masondishi" Mthembu (94), family and community members in Sibomvu near Ulindi. The interview was recorded by the KwaZulu-Natal Archives and Records Services in partnership with Imbube Heritage NPC. The project aims to record stories and memories, which focuses on recording the oral history of Zulu descendants of the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War. It is hoped that some fragments of cultural elements and visual testimonies would be gathered from of Zulu descendants. In this brief extract, uBaba Mthembu is seen holding a Zulu spear that, according to him, has been preserved in the Matembu family and was used by his grandfather at the Battle of Isandlwana on January 22, 1879. The full two-hour interview is available in video and audio format and can be viewed on the KwaZulu-Natal Audio Video Channel at www.kznarchives.gov.za
