We start the journey on the legendary Last Dollar Road, making our way past the historic True Grit Ranch before dropping into the beautiful town of Telluride, Colorado. This iconic backroad delivers everything you hope for in a Colorado adventure: high-country views, rugged trails, wildlife, and some of the best scenery the San Juans have to offer. Along the way, we encountered one of nature’s more intense moments when the Gold Mountain Fire broke out near Ouray, Colorado. We were there right as it started and captured the early stages as smoke began filling the valley. It was a powerful reminder of how quickly things can change in the mountains.
