Open Ocean Voyage, Juneau to Whittier
We take our boat through the northern most extent of the Inside Passage to Elfin Cove. Elfin Cove is a little paradise fishing village on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. We then sail our boat through the open ocean to Yakutat, Alaska. In Yakutat, we do some halibut fishing, refuel our boat, and plan our crossing of the Gulf of Alaska. Finally, we make the crossing of the Gulf of Alaska. Crossing the Gulf of Alaska to Whittier is 370 miles, mostly through open ocean. We again stop to do some fishing along the way and make the critical open ocean refuel of the boat. Join us in this video to learn about crossing the Gulf of Alaska. We make the voyage in a Sargo 33: https://sargoboats.fi/range/sargo-33/
