TIP FOR KNITTING RIBS ON A STANDARD GAUGE TO TRANSFER TO MID OR CHUNKY MACHINES USING DK YARN

If you have a mid gauge or chunky gauge machine without a ribber, and love to knit with DK yarns you will have come across the frustration of what to do about the edgings. DK is by far the most popular weight of yarn available in yarn stores and online suppliers. But what to do about those pesky cuffs and welts! Hand knit? Reform by relatchimg? Mock rib? Or some other kind of hem? If you’ve got a standard machine with a ribber, you’ve probably also tried (and maybe failed) at knitting your DK rib on that machine and desperately tried to stretch it across the bigger machines. I have the solution! On your standard gauge, knit a 1x1 rib but on every third needle instead of alternate needles. This video shows how.
