30 HORAS COMENDO EM MADRID | Deb Viaja | Go Deb
In this Deb Viaja video, we experience a 30-hour adventure in Madrid! Yes, we took a flight from Portugal to Spain to spend 30 hours eating Spanish food. Here you'll see a video with a gastronomic itinerary prepared by two Masterchef cooks who like to eat everything and everywhere, from a bar with local food to a restaurant run by a chef who has been voted the best in the world several times! We started our feast at Casa Revuelta, a tapas bar that has been around since 1966 and specializes in counter snacks, meaning you eat standing up! We ordered croquettes that were wonderful and also fried cod that was melting in your mouth. We went to Cerveceria La Campana to eat the super traditional bocadillo de calamares, a bread roll filled with breaded squid. We also had a pincho moruno that was delicious with an intense flavor. Still in the central area, we went to the traditional churro shop San Gines. Here, the churros are long and thin, served with a dark chocolate on the side. The churros aren't as sweet as we're used to, and the portion is huge. Since we started the day early, at lunchtime we went to the Street Xo restaurant of the famous and award-winning Chef Dabiz Munoz. The experience here was so different that it deserved its own video! Here are some spoilers in this video. The evening began at Hermanos Vinagre, a tapas bar where you also eat standing at the counter. A great choice for having a vermouth. Of course, we tried several dishes, starting with the Russian salad, which was the best I've ever had, then the traditional boquerones and fries. We also ordered chicken with potatoes and to finish, berberechos – which are clams. We continued the evening straight to Bodega La Ardosa, simply sensational! A super old and classic bar, small and full of history, and it hides a small lounge behind the counter. The food was delicious; we ate grilled artichokes, carabinero croquettes, and the classic dish, *callos a la madrileña*, a typical dish made with tripe and slow-cooked. The following morning we toured the local markets, and our breakfast was at Casa Dani in the Mercado de La Paz in the Salamanca neighborhood. Simply put, it's the best tortilla in Spain! Our next stop was the Mercado Valle Hermoso. Since it was Monday, the restaurants were closed, but add it to your itinerary as an option, because there are bib-gourmand restaurants that are worth the experience. To finish, we went to the restaurant Sala de Despiece. We were very happy with our farewell to Madrid. The atmosphere and concept are all inspired by the aesthetics of butcher shops. Most dishes are finished in front of the customers by the waiters at the counter. The menu is very interesting, creative, and different. A sensational experience that I would repeat many times! If you want to discover where to eat in Madrid beyond the obvious, this video is practically a guide made by someone who knows their stuff.
