Baking Bread for Beginners

We go through the process of baking a loaf of bread step by step using just a bowl, a wooden spoon and the ingredients. While you can easily use a stand mixer for the recipe, it is a distinct advantage to have practiced baking a loaf of bread by hand. It may be the only source we have for bread if things go south. Recipe 468g or 3 1/4 cups white unbleached flour 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast 1 1/2 tbsp sugar 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil 1 1/4 cups lukewarm water Steps: 1. Mix 2. Knead 3. Bulk Fermentation (1st rise) 4. Shape 5. Proof (2nd rise) 6.
