Security at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters was tightened on Thursday morning (July 9, 2026). A number of Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel were stationed at several points, from the entrance to the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) building. Brimob personnel also conducted roving patrols to anticipate any untoward incidents. Security was tightened after investigators from the National Police's Corruption Eradication Commission (Kortas Tipidkor) and investigators from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Ditreskrimsus searched 12 locations in the alleged corruption case from Wednesday to Thursday morning. Three corruption cases currently being handled by the National Police's Special Crimes Directorate (Kortas Polri) and the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Special Crimes Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) are coal procurement that triggered the blackout, corruption involving PT Asabri, and the settlement of PT CBS's debt to a subsidiary of Krakatau Steel. Several pieces of evidence seized during raids on three alleged corruption cases involving cafes and money changers in the Cipete area of ​​South Jakarta arrived at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Previously, during raids at the De Clan Restaurant and Koin Money Changer on Wednesday, investigators seized Rp67 billion in cash and dozens of documents and electronic devices.
