Padre Hallison Parro - Homilia dominical - 12/07/2026 - 15° Domingo do Tempo Comum - Ano A
Peace and Good! Welcome to our study and evangelization channel. On this 15th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Year A), we delve into Matthew chapter 13 to understand one of Jesus' most profound lessons: the Parable of the Sower. Why does the same seed produce such different results? In this homily, we explore the technique of the farmer from Jesus' time and how it applies to our hearts today. More than analyzing difficult terrains (stones, thorns, and the wayside), Jesus invites us to marvel at the abundant production of good soil. As a Bible teacher, I invite you to go beyond simply listening. Let's understand together: What does it mean to "understand" the Word so that it bears fruit? Why does wisdom require time and maturity? How can we prevent the worries of the world from suffocating our faith? Watch this reflection and discover how to be a field that produces 30, 60, or 100 times what was sown in the Lord's field. Hallison Parro BIBLE TEXT (Mt 13:1-23) 1 That day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the Sea of Galilee. 2 A large crowd gathered around him, so he got into a boat and sat down, while the crowd stood on the shore. 3 And he told them many things in parables: “A sower went out to sow. 4 As he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and ate them up. 5 Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where there was not much soil. They sprang up quickly, since the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, they were scorched, and since they had no root, they withered away. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seeds fell on good soil, where they produced a crop—a hundred, 60, or thirty times what was sown. 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” 10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” 11 Jesus replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables: Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. 14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. 15 For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ 16 But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. 17 Truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see What you see, but did not see; you desired to hear what you hear, but did not hear. 18 Listen then to the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 The seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
