My day flying a helicopter offshore in Scotland | Pilot POV

Experience a real day in the life of a North Sea helicopter pilot from the pilot's eye view. In this video, you’ll ride up front in the Sikorsky S-92 as we depart Aberdeen, fly across the North Sea to the FPSO Aoka Mizu, and return via the Orkney islands where I grew up. Thanks to approval for body-worn cameras and permission from the client, I can finally show you what an offshore flight actually looks like from the pilot’s seat - including take off, approach, landing, and departure from the vessel and airports. On the way home, we make a stop in Kirkwall for fuel… where someone very special was waiting in the terminal after tracking our progress on FlightRadar. In this video you’ll see: – Departure from Aberdeen – Flying offshore to the Aoka Mizu – The landing and refuelling onboard the vessel – A scenic arrival into Orkney – A surprise visitor in Kirkwall airport terminal – Our landing back in Aberdeen I hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at offshore helicopter flying. We're flying oil and gas workers to rigs in the North Sea. Thanks to everyone who has asked for this video over the years. I’m glad to finally share it with you.
