We never cease to be children of God; it's not that when we sin we lose our status as children and become bastards; that's not the case. Even when we feel—or are—the greatest sinners, He continues to love us, opens His arms to us, and grants us His grace. Understanding this doesn't give us license to sin; on the contrary, understanding His grace allows us to approach the Lord with sincere repentance, laying our guilt at His feet, and inspires us to live a new beginning, freed, without a burden to carry.
