Schlafwagen-Momente – mit dem IC Karkonosze nach Warschau

A single sleeping car, an open window and a night between Jelenia Góra and Warsaw — full of railway sounds, silence, evening light and golden morning sun. In this video I travel on the IC 16170 Karkonosze from Jelenia Góra to Warsaw. The train mainly consists of seated coaches and through coaches towards Gdynia — but hidden among them is one sleeping car to Warszawa Wschodnia. The journey begins in Jelenia Góra, with a short walk through the historic town before departure. Then the night train feeling begins: evening light, an open window, the sound of the rails, a quiet stop on the line, a locomotive change in Wrocław and the early morning arrival in Warsaw. A small sleeping car journey full of atmosphere, railway emotions and thoughts about stations, travel and the contrasts we often find along the way.
