Auf der Preußischen Ostbahn – von Piła nach Chojnice | Die Loks des D1 | Teil 5

In part 5 of my journey along the historic Prussian Eastern Railway, I travel from Piła to Chojnice. The video begins at Piła station, formerly Schneidemühl, where I take a short look at the station and talk about its historical importance, including the former locomotive workshops and railway facilities. I also show the old roundhouse before the journey continues through Greater Poland by regional train. This episode focuses less on commenting on every passing landscape and more on the history of locomotives on the Ostbahn. Using the famous D1 express train as an example, I explain which steam locomotives were used on this historic route in different periods – from the Prussian State Railways to the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the end of the old Ostbahn after the Second World War. At the end of the journey, we arrive in Chojnice, another important point on the historic railway route towards the east.
