KM Ekranoplan : Le Vrai Monstre de la Caspienne
The KM Ekranoplan, nicknamed the Monster of the Caspian Sea, is one of the most gigantic and mysterious machines of the Cold War. Designed by the Soviet Union in the 1960s, this colossus, nearly 100 meters long, was neither truly an airplane… nor truly a ship. It was a ground-effect vehicle, the first very large one in history to utilize this technology. Capable of flying at high speed just a few meters above the water, the KM embodied Soviet technological excess and fascinated as much as it worried Western intelligence services. 00:00 Intro 00:30 Context – Development 02:37 Characteristics 07:50 Service History If you would like to financially support the channel, you can now do so via Tipeee.
