Ruth and Naomi/ God’s Heart for Those in Need

This week we’re starting a new series, titled “The Heart of God” where we’ll learn of God’s love, concern, and compassion for the poor and needy. We’ll also learn how God wants us to put our faith into action and show his love to those in need. One place where we can see God’s concern for both widows, as well as the poor and needy, is in the book of Ruth in our Bibles. Ruth and her mother-in-law Naomi both became widows and were very poor. Their need was great and they were desperate. But they both remained faithful to God, and as a result, he used them as part of his bigger plan.
