Elisha and the Widow’s Oil/ 2 Kings 4:1-7

Last week we learned about the widow, who gave her two small copper coins into the offering. She gave everything she had to God. And she trusted that if she gave, God would provide for her. You know, the Bible tells us that God feels deepcompassion for widows, women, whose husband has died, positioning himself as their protector, defender, and provider. One way we can see the love and care God has for widows, and all those in need, is by looking at the account of another widow. This is the story of the prophet Elisha and the widow’s oil found in the book of 2 kings 4:1–7. In this account, the widow faces a dire situation; she is desperate and needs God‘s help. She owes a debt that she cannot pay. Through the prophet Elisha, God sends the widow help by doing an amazing miracle. Through this miracle, we can see God’s loving heart towards all those in need. Join us as we see the Amazing way God helped the widow pay her debt, and as we learn how God helped us pay the sin debt that we all owe.
