The Good Samaritan/ Compassion in Action/ Luke 10:25-37

This week we’re continuing our new series, titled “The Heart of God” where we’ll learn of God’s love, concern, and compassion for the poor and needy. We’ll also learn how God wants us to put our faith into action and show his love to those in need. Last week we saw how God provided for Ruth and Naomi, who are both widowed, as well as being poor and destitute. We saw God’s heart of love and compassion as he met their needs in the most amazing way. God saw their need, he cared, and he acted on their behalf. Our God is compassionate. Psalm 116:5 says “The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.” And in our Bible, we see that God wants us to be compassionate too. He wants us to have a heart like his heart. And that includes loving our neighbors. So who exactly are our neighbors? Join us today as we hear what Jesus had to say when someone asked him this very question!
