L'Anello d'Acqua: 140km tra i Navigli

142 km, 350 m of elevation gain, 4 canals, and a nearly perfect loop around Milan. In this video, I'll take you on a ride I've long dreamed of doing in one go, dubbed the Anello d'Acqua (Water Ring). We rode the Naviglio Pavese, the evocative Naviglio di Bereguardo (with its famous waterfalls), the majestic Naviglio Grande, and finally the endless Canale Villoresi. A quick technical note: Yes, I know, the Villoresi is a canal, not a Naviglio (different purposes, different eras!), but for this time, we'll take a "poetic license"... let's just say that, according to YouTube's algorithm, they're all one big family of waterways! 😉 It wasn't all smooth sailing: ❌ The Certosa "wall": I wanted to show you the Certosa di Pavia, but I discovered that bicycles (even push-bikes) are banned from the gardens within the walls, which hide everything. A real shame, but a useful tip for anyone who wants to go there: bring a lock! ❌ Komoot and the fields: A classic navigation error stranded me in the middle of a farm field when the perfect asphalt was just a few meters away... the joy of cycle touring!
