I Tried really hard to make this work, and I'm done now.

I've been publicly documenting my search for my next business. Every week I pick up where I left off. This week I'm walking away from something. A few months ago I built a scrappy MVP to help coach the team at a company I work with. The idea was to use call recordings to coach sales reps at scale, flag bad habits, keep documentation updated, things that nobody has time to do manually. Showed it to the team, they loved it. Felt like I was onto something. Spent the last couple months doing validation interviews to see if other companies would pay for it. Confirmed the problem is real, but couldn’t find the right person to sell this to for the life of me. Also confirmed I have zero interest in selling software that requires 10 meetings and multiple stakeholders to close a deal worth $20 a month per seat. So I'm done. The hardest part wasn't the decision. It was figuring out if I was quitting because it was hard or quitting because it genuinely wasn't right. Took me two weeks to sort that out. I have a new idea I'm not ready to talk about yet. It's probably crazy… but I'm very excited about it.
