Nemours- Stellplatz am Kanal und die Abtei von Pontigny

Nemours - Campsite on the Loing Canal Easter in France. The campsite is located directly on the Loing Canal. A mooring for pleasure boats is right in front of the campsite. A lock, which allows boats access to the Loing River, can be reached in two minutes. The center of the small and lively town, with its shops and restaurants, is also just a few minutes' walk away. Nemours has a train station. According to the guidebook, the town is known for its medieval castle, which was not open to visitors during our stay. The weekly market, which takes place on Saturdays in a parking lot on the banks of the Loing, is also within easy walking distance. The campsite is operated by Camping Car Park. We had a quiet and pleasant stay from Good Friday to Easter Monday. Unfortunately, not all of the electrical hookups were working upon arrival. After contacting customer service by email, the problem was resolved on Sunday, and we received a credit to our account. ... Pontigny - a town with a magnificent former Cistercian abbey We're repeat offenders. We already used this campsite as a stopover on our way to Rochelle in 2019. The imposing former primary abbey of the Cistercian order impressed us back then. Unfortunately, we couldn't visit it at the time due to an event. But when we left, we knew: We'll be back. The time had finally come. The municipal campervan site is just a few minutes away. It's a quiet stopover. In 2025, we paid €8 per night plus tourist tax. However, that's just the basic site fee. If you need electricity and water, you have to book these separately when you check in. Check-in is done at a machine that also displays instructions in German. There's a bakery and a winery in the village. Unfortunately, the grocery store has since closed. ...
