Worried About Vocal Damage? Try This Self Check Exercise...
Always consult a doctor if you're seriously worried about whether you've damaged your voice. But often just complete vocal rest is enough to reverse symptoms of an overstressed voice. In my case it was, and I found this to be a great exercise to check to see how my voice was feeling. I still do these low volume hums to check my voice before a vocal practice session to see if it sounds/feels ready to sing. It's also a good exercise to relax your voice after an intense vocal workout or show.
